Bohemian Stoke Newington village

Hi my blog friends.

I had busy weakends.

Was travelling to North London for doing a little bit exploring and also picking up 4 Victorian Queen Anne chairs for my next Diy project.
With my friend Snayge we had a great time at Stoke Newington village and particulary at  HOMA restaurant.

Stoke Newington village is located in North London whithin Hckney Borough.
It  has the highest number of young families in London..
It's all about unique independent design shops, bookshops, bric a bric shops which you can hardly find anywhere else.
It's all about diversity and buzz.

It cought our eyes with its pure simple design from outside.

This chair is my absolute favorite.
As well as anything in this pretty designed  restaurant.

They serve fabuolous coffee which is from Union hand roasted, based in South London, the beans are from three countries and are Fair Trade and Organic.

Homa is short listed for the Restaurant and Bar Design Award  under Independent Restaurants category.

 Hugs,
Liana

White Vit Hvid

My

white crockery

collection

I love white crockery. It not only feels crisp and fresh but adds a touch of sophistication.
It creates the right mood for my breakfast parties. Above I gathered all my white new and old pieces in one place. This bookshelf was bought from junky furniture shop and is waiting for being transformed to white. But before this DIY project  I thought it could be used as a lovely stand for displaying these bits and pieces.

See you...

Another feminine brand from Sweden

Vintage by Fe  is a Swedish fashion and accessories brand founded in 2008. Ambition was to create a label that appeals to women of all ages who appreciate unique, beautiful items with a touch of vintage.
Items that are very feminine, yet a bit rough, made from dynamic, natural materials such as wood, cotton and leather. Materials which only become more beautiful over time.
It all started at a London market. Founders Johanna and Nicklas came across some charming old pocket watches and came up with the idea of transforming them into necklace watches. It immediately became a huge success.

This scarf is my absolute favorite...

And how about this one?

This gorgeous clock on a chain  is made of  a metal clad with a mixeture of antique silver.

Their necklace watches are now famous and acclaimed  throughout Europe.

Just came home from college.
Tired but inspired.

I like simple home decor touches.

Like this kitchen units with tongue and groove splashback, the wooden floor and the warm feelling in this kitchen.

Have a beautiful evening,

Sunday routine..

I try to keep our Sundays as simple as possible...
Something totally  different from  daily basic routine...
Or adding an element of a little surprise to our Sunday routine..

 By...
1. Having breakfast not in a hurry
2. Shopping at the local farmers market
3. Going to the park with our young gentleman
4. Having relaxed conversations to each other
5. Reading books just for a pleasure
6. Having good food and simple light desserts

What about you?

Have a great start of the new week,
Liana

A little inside our living room

This lovely sideboard was bought from Homes in Heaven.
Their quality of painting (which is so important for painted furniture) is outstanding.
And it's so beautiful to have all my white ceramics inside this Scandinavian inspired sideboard.
And I belive when we buy our own house I can use it in the dining room for displaying desserts when having parties.
I like dreams...

This mirror was bought from a charity shop for £3.
Someone was working hard to painting it BLUE...
But I knew that I could recycle it...
Just a couple of layers of primer spray paint followed by two layers of this Rust-Oleum paint.
That's all.
Do you like the result?

This vase is a charity shop thrift as well...

Thank you for visiting my blog,
Love,
Liana

Rustic lentil, chickpea and kale Soup

Kale is considered to be a  highly nutritous vegetable but it's not easy to convince my son to eat something which is too leafy.
And he is not a soup fan either, but this soup was a big hit for us all.

      Kale, chickpea and lentil Soup:

  • 200gr smoked bacon rashers
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 carrots, diced
  • 3 stalks of celery, diced
  • 3 gloves of garlic, crushed
  • salt, pepper
  • 1 can of tomatoes
  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • 150gr  kale chopped
  • 9 cup of chicken stock (homemade)
  • 2 cup of green lentils

In a large Dutch oven heat the small amount of olive oil add the bacon and cook for 6 minutes. When the bacon is cooked,
remove all and place in a kitchen paper. Saute the onions, carrots, celery and garlic for 5-6 minutes until they are soft. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper and cook for 2 more minutes. Add the chicken stock, lentils and simmer for 40 minutes. Add the chopped kale, bacon and chickpeas and cook for 5minutes then serve with crusty bread.
P.S.You can blend the half of the soup in a food processor then add to the remaining half, if you like.
    Love
